June 2024

GTA 6’s release date certainly created a frenzy among the fans recently. There were many posts, and articles released, even from official sources like Kotaku. That said GTA 6 might miss the 2025 window and its release would be slipped away much further to 2026.

Rockstar Games did not make any claims either, and Fans worldwide were disheartened to the core. However, if you were one of the many, here is good news for you.

GTA 6 won’t be getting delayed!

Take-Two Interactive, which is the parent company of Rockstar Games has cleared all rumors and misunderstandings revolving GTA 6 release date. Despite all the misunderstandings, Take-Two Interactive has clearly stated and confirmed GTA 6 will be released exactly as it is scheduled. They further acclaimed that GTA 6 will be released exactly as they had announced in Trailer 1, which means the Banner Year 2025.

More specifically, Take-Two Interactive CEO, Strauss Zelnick explained how released dates are typically estimated. The number of bugs a file has and other elements play a big part in this. However, he further went on to explain why these things do not matter when it comes to GTA 6.

“However, in the case of an extraordinary title, for which there are extraordinary expectations, it’s not really about bugs. It’s about creating an experience that no one has seen before.”

Considering everything that Strauss Zelnick has finally confirmed, GTA 6 will be released in 2025, Autumn.

Clearing all the other rumors and myths around GTA 6

Now the release date is not the only thing that has been misinterpreted among GTA fans. Let us clear some misinformation related to GTA 6.

“GTA 6 will run at 30 FPS consoles”

GTA 6 will be released to the latest PS5 consoles and Xbox series. While that’s true, It has been said GTA 6 will run at 30 FPS on consoles. There is no official source that guarantees this piece of information. We don’t still know of the game’s performance on Xbox 6 and PS5. Most likely it will feature both performance and fidelity modes.

“GTA 6 Trailer is Just Animation”

Another rumor that spread around was that GTA 6’s trailer 1 was CGI animation. This is not true at all. What you see on GTA 6 was recorded via the PS5 on 30 FPS. No graphics or CGI was used. Neither was it Pre- rendered.

“The guy who leaked clips and screenshots of GTA 6 is sentenced to a lifetime in Prison”

Again, This is wrong. The hacker who hacked into Rockstar Games and leaked various clips of GTA 6 at its previous development stages was Arion Kurtaj. An 18-year-old teenager at the time, who was found to be Autistic. He was arrested by the police and was sentenced to an indefinite hospital stay. It was not just because of the GTA 6 leaks either. He had multiple major cybercrime attack accusations and was deemed not mentally stable. However, he was not sentenced to a lifetime in prison.

Also, the leaked videos and screenshots are from 2022. There were about 90 clips of GTA 6 which was released unethically to the public via his Twitter page. There is a common misconception these clips are from 2019. It should be duly noted they are in fact from the 2021- 2022 era.

“Rockstar Games update their website with GTA 6 screenshots”

This particular topic went viral in the past few weeks. Even I remember getting excited about this. However, what happened was GTA 6 game page was briefly made public on the Rockstar Game website. Screen Shots from the game were not uploaded. All these codes and links that were spread across social media were not real. Rockstar Games has not released any screenshots of GTA 6 on their website yet.

One thing we need to realise is that when it comes to GTA 6 you should not believe in every word that goes on the internet. The only reliable media is their official outlets. Either Rockstar Games or their Parent Company Take-Two Interactive. Social Media has an overreacting chain of misinformation, which could easily misguide you with GTA 6 news.

However, it’s clear that GTA 6 will definitely be released by 2025. See you there pretty soon!
